On February 22, members of Christ Lutheran gathered to call our next pastor to serve our congregation. Since Pastor Nuss retired, Christ Lutheran was blessed to have Pastor Ray Rogers as our interim pastor through December 2025. Pastor Kevin Wackett became our interim pastor in January 2026. At our Divine Call Service, led by our Congregational President Dave Rose, Pastor Donn Woolweber received our congregational call. Pastor Woolweber and his wife, Debbie, joined us March 15th. Welcome to Christ Lutheran Church Pastor Donn and Debbie.

The Risen Lord Jesus Pours Out the Holy Spirit
The Lord took “some of the Spirit” that was on Moses “and put it on the seventy elders” of Israel (Num. 11:25), and they “prophesied in the camp” (Num. 11:26). In the same way, our risen Lord Jesus poured out His Holy Spirit at the Feast of Pentecost — the 50th day and the “Eighth Sunday” of Easter. When “a sound like a mighty rushing wind” and “tongues as of fire appeared” and rested on each of the 12 apostles, “they were all filled with the Holy Spirit” and proclaimed “the mighty works of God” (Acts 2:2–4, 11). The Lord Jesus grants this same Spirit to His Church on earth to proclaim Him glorified on the cross and risen victorious from the grave for us sinners. From His open heart, our crucified and risen Lord pours out His Holy Spirit in “rivers of living water” (John 7:38) and invites everyone who thirsts to come to Him and drink freely (John 7:37). Through this life-giving work of the Holy Spirit, we hear our pastors “telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God” (Acts 2:11), and “everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21).

Faith Returns Thanks to God and Worships Him in the Person of Christ Jesus
Jesus comes in mercy and, by His Word, heals you in body and soul. “Go and show yourselves to the priests,” for you are cleansed (Luke 17:14), and you are granted access to the Lord’s temple. It is “at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks” (Luke 17:16), that you worship God, for Christ Jesus is your great High Priest; His body is the true temple. In Him, you “find rest, each of you in the house of her husband” (Ruth 1:9), for the Lord has “visited his people and given them food” (Ruth 1:6). The person of Jesus Christ lodges Himself in holy food — bread and wine for believers to eat and drink. You lodge where Jesus lodges; His Father is your God, His people are your people. Death cannot part you from Him because His death and resurrection are eternally yours through Holy Baptism. “Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead” (2 Tim. 2:8). As surely as death could not hold Him, so surely “the word of God is not bound” (2 Tim. 2:9). His Gospel is entrusted “to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also” (2 Tim. 2:2), so that you “may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim. 2:10). Such is the confession of faith for all the saints, who believe, teach and confess the one Lord and Savior — Jesus Christ, OF THE LORD! Jesus is both the host and the food for the meal that we share. It is Jesus’ saving death that we proclaim whenever we dine together at the Lord’s Table, and this is what we believe:
With this congregation, I believe and confess:
If for any reason you cannot consume wine, white grape juice is available in the center ring of the individual cups. If coming to the altar rail is difficult for you, pastor and one of the communion assistants would be happy to bring you communion in the pews.

In our last installment, we talked about being at a crossroads of life searching for a new direction or maybe guidance to fill a void.
This time we would like to offer you some options on how to faithfully navigate through those crossroads. We will inform you as to what Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church has to offer. We begin by digesting the words in our mission statement below.
Together We Love, we demonstrate Christ’s Love by welcoming everyone young and old alike. I guess you could say we are a welcoming place for those searching for a connection in one way or another. The greatest of these is LOVE!
Serve, as an outreach extending help to those in need! Places like a local food shelf halfway housing for those in transition, Women’s Missionary League, Stephen Ministries, to mention a few.
Encourage, offering a meaningful Christian environment for individuals with cognitive disabilities, which we lovingly call Bible School for Special People (BSSP). This has been a 60 + year successful program.
Grow in the Family of Christ Here and Throughout the World, which we have been doing for the last 70 years.
Our prayer is to continue to do all the above and more. Our contact information is below. This is your invitation to visit us and join us in this mission. This could be your first steppingstone for some answers to your crossroads journey! God Bless!

Our church offers a meaningful Christian atmosphere for people with special challenges. The program has been running continuously for over 50 years. We offer weekly Bible school on Saturdays from 10 am to noon during the school year. Each week the program includes time for devotion, sharing through prayer , Bible stories, singing, activities, and a light snack. We also have a week long VBS for the class during the Summer.
Our church has a very active LWML group that meets monthly. Beforw COVID, each Spring, the group has their major fundraiser making thousands of chocolate covered eggs for Easter. While this is an LWML project most of the congregation comes out to help make the eggs. Proceeds from the fundraiser go to support good works locally as well as mission work in other countries. In addition to the local activities some members participate in regional and national LWML activities.
We have a growing and active Stephen Ministry program. Stephen Ministries is a one-to-one lay caring ministry. Our congregation has several trained Stephen Leaders and a dedicated group of Stephen Ministers who are trained and actively serving the needs of our community.
Our contemporary service is supported by a group of musicians and vocalists performing today's Christian favorites.
Our traditional service is supported by our organist for liturgy and hymns.
Our choir meets every Thursday at 7:00 pm. All are welcome!
Our men's quartet is a blessing to all.
Evangelism Committee
Our goal, with God’s help and guidance is to strive and grow the membership of Christ Lutheran Church! We are the face of the church! By going out into the community and the places we live, we inform folks about our church family. We welcome visitors with open hearts and arms to nurture them on a journey with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! We work closely with the Pastor to introduce new member instruction classes, and visit the shut ins and homebound. We maintain a fresh updated Website, Facebook page, and a digital sign at the front of our church. If you are looking for a new home church or a new spiritual walk, this just may be the place for you. We will welcome you! God Bless!
Our church fellowship hall can seat 120 for dinners and the adjoining commercial grade kitchen has helped turn out many delicious meals. Our dedicated fellowship team keep things running smoothly for the various dinners, potlucks, workshops and other activities happening in our congregation throughout the year.
